Rep Power: 0 | Re: Hi everyone Hi, your pond is about 2362 gallons going on the dimensions that you have said. I assume its pump fed, and if the water is brown either the pump or the filter are not working properly. If you want to keep koi rather than goldfish, a small pressure filter on this pond is not going to be sufficient. You really need a multi stage filter or a couple of vortex chambers with media or even depending on your budget an easy pod or easy 200.
You need to get the pump up off the bottom and find out what it is (its capacity etc.) and see if its powerful enough, The water needs to be completley turned over about once every two hours. If it cant do this (and remember you have to allow for the head height to the filter and bends in the pipework etc.) you will need a new pump. Next open the filter box and see what media is inside and clean it thoroughly with pond water. If you can give me a make and model for the pump and filter that you have we can then get an idea of what setup you have in place. Does the pond have a U.V clarifier in place, if not this may explain some of the brown water as algea can sometimes be brown not green.

1 :cloverleaf cl2 / cl3
2:kockney koi 10000 vortex
3 :easy pod 200/300
I have also read a few mags but am unsure of witch way to go,are the easypods as good as i have read and worth the cash?
The pond at present has no uv ,but as i see it you either fill in the pond or make it nice, i would like to make it nice.
Do second filter systems come up for sale very often? |

Anybody have any idea what kind of koi this is? I've looked around on the web but couldn't figure out what it is. |
