Default Frequent Error 500s

Hi

I get the following message fairly often when browsing the site. It first happened to me on Saturday but as it is still doing it this morning I thought I should let you know.

Cheers
Jon

I belong to several other messageboards, dedicated to, gardening, jukeboxes, saxophones, vintage radios etc., and this message could come up on some of them occasionally. I've always believed it's because of a heavy internet traffic situation, if I go back say an hour later, the problem seems to be resolved.
I don't think it's anything the hosts can correct, but it is irritating when it happens as you attempt to send a post.
In these rare instances I usually "refresh" the page, save the post to Word, then check later to see if it got sent, before attempting to post it again.

It generally is to do with too much traffic, the site is fairly slow anyway so I'm assuming it's on the edge all the time.

There is something the admins could do about it - beef up the web hosting for the site!

Anyway as you say I can always refresh the page!

Thanks

To be honest I don't really mind about the occasional problem, the message board it isn't costing me any money and I find it's often a source of useful information.
It must cost someone money to provide the facility and I wouldn't expect them to go to more expense to cure an occasional inconvenience.

I know exactly what you are saying but I am assuming the admins would like to drive traffic to the site to both increase the community and to bring in revenue from adverts/merchandise.
These errors if they happen fairly often, have a detrimental effect on the whole site experience and may even make some potential members/customers simply not use it - which surely isn't in anyone's interest!

I certainly didn't post this to have a whinge about a free service (and a superb source of info) - more to inform the site owners/admins of the issue and then it's up to them if they do anything about it.

Cheers

I get this sometimes too but try again later and it's ok
Moreover, I've recently got a new laptop with W7 and when I click on 'new posts' it doesn't take me that part of the site??

Any news on this Laz?

I am getting "database error" message with increasing frequency; starting to get real hard work viewing anything.
