Default Dirty water problem

Hi,
I have problems with the water being dirty. The pressure in the sand filter is 0.5 bar. But flow rate seems slow. Any ideas.
Thanks
Mike

Hi Fimbar
Just one pump? I have a 5700 gal pond and 4 pump and just about to add a bakki with 2 more 15000 pump which will make it 4 15000, 1 8000, 6000, pump I don't know but sure someone will know but think you need to turn over the water quicker

hiya i ran a sand filter many years ago and i can tell you that they need back washing a hell of alot. what happens if you dont back wash them enough is that in time they start to clog up at the sides and water just runs through the middle making them useless really. if this happens then they will clog even quicker because the water is only going through a small part of the sand. if i was you i would strip down the sand filter take all the sand out and then clean the sand out of the filter. then refill it and back wash again untill the pressure is better. mark

Shevy, I also have two central heating pumps. One for the 4 bay and one for the veggy filter. Flow ratenis my concern though as not much muck seems to be trapped in the seive that is fed from the bottom drain and pumped via the 10000 to the sand filter
Thanks mike

Mark,
Will try what your suggesting. I also get a lot of water coming through the wate outlet on th 6 way valve, is this normal? Also what should the pressure be?
Thanks
Mike

Now running the sand filter on bypass to increase flow rate. Will see what this does before doing anything major. Time to start saving for a bead filter or bakki me thinks
