Think this water keeping game is driving me mad!!, but I love koi and believe watching them gracefully gliding around on a summers evening is good for the soul :-)
I may have told this story before but it is worth repeating.

An article in the BKKS magazine about 25 years ago was from a solicitor.

He said he'd been to the doctor as he'd been unwell. After he'd explained his symptoms and the doctor had examined him, the diagnosis was that he was suffering from stress.

"What do you do for a living?"

"I'm a solicitor, I'm mostly involved in litigation, lots of court appearances and complicated cases."

"Well that'll be the cause of it."

"I don't think so, I really enjoy it."

"Well... what else do you do?"

"I keep Japanese koi"

"Tell me about it."

So he went into detail about all the usual trials and tribulations which beset us with this hobby.

"Well that's it! It's looking after those fish that's causing your stress! Get rid of them!"

"I can't do that!"

"Why not?"

"They help me to relax!"

HI All,

just like to report that it's -9 here this morning and I have just checked my water temperature at its now sitting at 5.5 deg c, we are due some sunshine today so hopefully I will see a small rise in water temp and will be able to hold in some of that heat . checked on the fish and they seem happy enough beneath their new temporary shelter. Big game today with my team taking on the manc's, "come on you reds" 2-1 to liverpool. Boy is doing these filter cleans in this weather a nightmare brrrr . I hope and wish you all luck with guiding your flock through the winter and into the spring. Has anyone used hydra extreme winter bacteria before?, it looks and sounds very good for keeping those bio filters ticking over during the colder months (that's their claim anyway). Roll on the summer!!!! , have included a pic of my boys and girls just before I stopped feeding at the end of jan hope you like em.
