Default Ditching UZ sterilizer for Ozone

Hi everyone,I have an elderly uv unit which I will have to replace this season, and I am wondering if it would be feasable to replace it with a small ozone unit, as I have a home made pvc-pipe protein skimmer which I could use as a reaction chamber?
The pond is 10000l and lightly stocked......at the moment, but I'd like to change that!
Thanks Guys
