Hi Dave
Will do if it rains but all my readings are to cock at the moment I have 6.1 on the new meter on the wall and 8.0 on the bench so don't know where I am at the moment. I think that's why Gaz is so tall he's been drinking the RO water

Yes, R O water is OK to drink, It`s softened water that is not recommended in large volumes especially for heart problems and some other health reasons. R O water passes through a membrane, & usually charcoal & other pods to take out dissolved metal compounds. Softened water i.e. in household iron exchange (resin based) salt regeneration systems are not good to drink long term, but very good to shower under, for washing machines, dish washers, etc. as iron exchange strips out calciums/scale ect.

Hi,
I would not drink it if I was you di water is always looking to get its minerals back, we use this at work and it drys out the skin badly. We were told by h&s to wear gloves when handling it. Think drinking it would take minerals from other places ie bones/organs. Good luck , just found this link, makes interesting reading

Hi Shev,

If you want to stop the kettle scaling up you can buy a filter cartridge called a carbon dealk which has a built in ion exchange resin, cartridge has to be change every 6 months or 2600 litres, here's a web link if it's any use..

Franke 05 Filter

For this to work you will have to run a separate cold feed from your mains, to a filter housing then to a separate drinking water tap...

drinking RO water is fine we used it for about 10 years whilst I had an RO system for a Marine tank. It actually tasted better than water straight out of the tap.

You can't drink DI water not only does it not taste very nice it isn't all that good for you either.

Cheer Al,
