Hi all, new on here so I thought I would share a couple of pics of my latest pond.
Its's a streamflow pond, the second one I have built, filtered via nexus and bakki showers. It has been up and running for just over 2 weeks now, 6600 gallons and 10 Koi in there. Still need to finish off enclosing it all which I am on with.
Stop teasing look fabulous pond and garden more please!!
We need to inspire all the folks that are digging their ponds at the moment..
Al
Thats inspiring and even more of a tease...
What can I say a lot of planning went into that, whats the depth at each end? looks like a Tandum pair of single showers with a bespoke weir plate? - more details please....how do you feed the Nexus..?
6'2 at the shallow (shower) end, 6'9 at the deep end. ok, here goes lol...
2x 3 tiers back to back with a custom made bottom tray, 100kg of BHM.
2x nexus 200 well ones a 210, both fed from 3" mid water feeds.
6 sumps at the deep end, 2 of which pump straight over the showers by a sequence 10,000, the other 4 sumps flush direct to waste every 3 hours via an air uplift, a 10 second flush purges the drains, all automated.
2x skimmers, each with an aquamax 10,000 pump straight over the showers.
1 nexus is pumped directly over the showers by an optimax 20,000, the other goes through the UV and HX and returns via 4 deep returns at the shallow end at floor level, this is pumped by a seqence 10,000
I will start a new thread in the pond build section if anyone would like to see the build as it progressed.

Please Al, that would be great.
What are your thoughts on the enclosure?
In winter I enclose the sides of my main pond and pergola with 4" thick sheets of unfoiled kingspan that have been glassed and flow coated, thermally its excellent, demountable so its not a permanent structure but pretty bullet proof.
The enclosure is already under way, the 1st window is in, shown on the 1st pic, and both front and rear doors are on and glazed, the front door is a stable type so I can open the top half of the door during the warm summer (lol) days.
I need to do a bit more brickwork this weekend to bring the sides up a little, and then I can get on with making the rest of the frames. The windows will be in 2 halfs, fixed bottom and opening at the top. Even now as it is, it is staying around 4c above the outside temps in there.
The only issue with doing this is condensation which is why I have plenty of openings to try and combat this, time will tell
The aim is to have it fully enclosed before winter sets in.
