Hi Mark
could be the bhm and maybe it did when he first started it running but now it's knocked in it ok. Think you must give it time. I get foam from the food if it lays on the top to long.

hi guys i used to get alot of foam, when i had alphagrog in my shower. the bhm has settled in nicely but i also swapped around my foods so i found one which i was happy with and had very little waste.

when i had foam before i used to use the antifoam fluid you can buy from koi dealers which worked for a while. i do still get foam from time to time but very little. i take it you know the foam is just proteins built up from the dietrius from your food and fish waste? easiest answer... to reduce the foam, reduce your wastes, clean your filters more often anything you can to assist this.

the food i feed is a combination of yamotonishki and pro bites and of course my pearl barley

plus when i took the pictures this morning everything is in a state and i have a temp vat in front of my pond which is holding a couple of koi in it destined for the crouch valley auction next month.

right my pond. its 3000 gallons (6 foot deep all over). fed by a home made bakki shower full of BHM which is fed by 2 x 16000 aquamax pumps, also the pond has a large three bay filter consiting of brushes, static k1, fluidised k1 and returning to the pond by way of a weir (which you can see in my signiture) which has roughly 10000lph running through it. The pond is also fed by a pressurised canister filter which has a 5500lph aquamax pumping through filter floss then returning via air diffusser into pond. lastly the skimmer connects via another 10000lph aquamax to my sieve which returns straight back to my pond. so a whole plethera of filteration making the pond look like a water treatment centre. 30w uv and 3kw heater also on pond.
This is an awesome set up and the turn over and growth rates are out of this world....
I have seen this set up in the flesh a few times now and it is a credit to the quality of koi in there...
Well done Pondy
