Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately, the pictures don't really show the set up, half the pond is below ground and half is above. I'll try and take some decent ones (but only once the water is sorted out so that Peter can't shout at me!) Luckily, OH is a landscaper.

PS That's Primrose and Gertrude in the photo - taken by the Daily Mail for an article on keeping poultry in your back garden.

we have chickens in our garden too but no pond yet. looks good though your pond how big is it?

The bigger pond is 3,700 gallons, the smaller is about 1,500 gallons.
