Okies here goes
Ya want pond build Pics here is mine. To give you a bit of background this is quite an achievement for me as in August last year I had a nasty accident at work which has rendered my left foot pretty useless
, the pond has all been hand dug by myself and with the help of my wife all the materials were manhandled through the house as the garage I had built blocked any side access (hindsight is a wonderful thing lol ) anyways not to bore you all too much this is a 3000 gallon pond with a single bottom drain centred and the bottom slightly benched. The bottom drain feeds a Vortex and then into a multi-bay filter which contains 20 brushes, Jap-Mat, Alfagrog, flocor and finally foams and polishing wool which is returned to the pond by a Oasis 10000 pump via 2No 1.5” returns. The side skimmer feeds a Cloverleaf Fluidised bed filter with 6Kg of sand and also to a Cloverleaf compact filter with Alfagrog, foams and polishing wool this then returns to the pond via a “trickle” type waterfall which has 3 levels and also contains Alfagrog amongst the pebbles and plants, this is all fed by a Oasis 4000 pump. There are still a few things I want to do to it like change over to K1 in the multi-bay also possibly a protein Skimmer installed, but until I find more energy these tweaks will have to wait
