Default spindrifter bottom drain

hi all, kev from newport, south wales here, this is my first post, hope someone can help, i have purchased a spindrifter bottom drain, with the direct air feed kit, the kit comes in 2 parts, one part fits into the 1" air pipe,(pressure pipe) which then connects to the air pump, the 2nd part i think is supposed to go into the base of the bottom drain, but it seems quite loose compared to the other part, maybe it will be ok when glued, but not 100% sure, have anyone fitted one of these before ?, hoping someone can help, thanks, kev.

Hiya Kev.

I fitted one of these myself last year. Mine was a BIT loose, but once glued in it was ok. Just make sure you have it pointing in the right direction. If memory serves me correctly, the pipe that connects to it needs go about half way round the middle part of the drain.
Welcome to the forum, BTW
Cheers...Freddy.

hi freddy, that must have been the fastest reply ever, many thanks, i take it the the part that fits to the base is fitted from the inside, then connected with the flexi tube, does that sound right, cheers freddy.

Hi Kev & welcome to the forum

What size pipe are you using for the bottom drain itself? Is it 4" pressure pipe or is it 110mm soil pipe. There is a difference you see and you would need a converter to adapt sizes.

thanks for your reply miles, it is 110mm pressure pipe, that fits fine to the bottom drain, it is just the one piece of the direct air supply kit that fits to the bottom drain, just slightly loose.

Well hopefully, as Freddy says, it will seal itself nicely once glued and into position. Good luck with your build

Yes, the fitting goes on the inside, just angle it upwards, around 30 degrees
