I noticed that many people use the concrete blocks, normally 9 inch, if i was to search for a price, what are these bricks called?

Hi John,
They are just 'solid dense concrete blocks' sometimes also referred to as '7N' type of blocks.

I had one of the structural engineers on site look at my pond wall plans. He did some calcs and said, at approx 10x8x5, 2' in ground and glassed, 6" concrete blocks (not breeze) laid the conventional way would be more than adequate. Simply put he said the size of the pond area wise wouldn't alter the pressure put on the walls, only the depth, although the wall integrity did decrease with length, in other words, a single block wall would only be good for x feet.
