I have built my second pond (replacing my old one), the new one is approx 20feet x 8 feet x 5.5 feet deep. Approx 6000 Gallons if i calculated right. It has two 4" bottom drains. My question is what filters should I go for? I have a 4 bay filter, however I am now considering the benefits of an Estro Sieve, Bead filter, or Nexus 310, or Bakki.... or any combination... Now I know there are loads of experts out there who have opinions so I would love to hear from you.
Also I have built a narrow filter into the pond along the back, for plants, will act as a Veggy filter and be fed from the Skimmer
thanks Mike

Hi ya mike
i have just built a 2400 gallon pond and i went the estro sieve and econo bead 60 system. when i was looking around for filter system i looked into the nexus as well but so many retailers said they sold 1 nexus to 6 bead filters. having been up and running now for about 2 months i much say the water is awesome and gin clear. i have seen 2 big ponds lately and to say they both ran nexus 300 filters and was no where near as clear as mine im so glad i went bead filter route. i have also just brought a bakki shower for next year so you could go bakki as well and feed this from skimmer and let this drop into your veg filter. also the space a nexus 300 filter needs compare to a bead filter is alot.maybe others will give you another idea but this just my opinion. also here is a picture of my bead filter set up.
have you some pics you can show as all.

Thanks for the info Mark. I am now on the look out for a bead Filter. I also understand you can use a Sand filter as a Bead Filter simply by changing the media.
The pond is still under construction and once I work out how to upload the pics I will add some.
cheers
