Spot on mate. backfill and compact with soil then do a concrete footing about a foot deep, cheaper then filling completely with concrete. I'll give ya a job, you do better blockwork then a couple of donkeys that work for me.

lol cheers m8 but i have enough to do with building this pond! thanks for the tip about the back fill, have ballast arriving tomorrow to back fill what i have already laid will keep that in mind for the rest of it
Hi Keith, looking good. As said earlier, I think you'll need to be prepared to up your filtration. My first pond had a filter that was matched to the pond size. In other words, my pond was 2,000 gallons and the filter was for ponds up to 2,5000 gallons. It's those 2 little words "up to" that are so misleading. Anyway, keep up the good work, and keep them pics coming

hi freddy, have been thinking about filtration, what do u think if i was to install a bead filter after my nexus then would it be possible to pipe the surface skimmer into the bead filter, or would i need the filter for the skimmer to be seperate from my main filter system?
your build is looking great by the way, how many gallons u going 4?
cheers m8 not going to get much done today have run out of cement after all that back fill yesterday.
think i will go flat block to the top now= less back fill
