mark | hi mark , have a look around , for a soft venturi end , as koi can go a bit nutty at feeding time , just wouldnt want any of them to knock themselves and get a bump or scratch

i only have 6x 3" fish and 1x 5" fish in at the moment. i have put into the bead filter some bacto plus gel for the filter. i do have a stunning 16" kohaku to pick up some time this week but wanted to leave it 3 or 4 days to make sure every thing is ok. i want to have maybe around 20 good size fish in the end. the bead filter i have will cope upto 6000 gallons so i will have no worrys at all on the stocking level. i am going to buy good quality fish from the avenue fisheries in whyboston bedfordshire. mark |

Reputation Level: | Hi Mark. Avenue Fisheries, just had a look at their w/s. They seem to have some real nice Koi. Is it my imagination, are Koi a lot more expensive these days ? I guess so. I reckon it's worth paying that bit extra, and getting really good fish (within reason, of course). I can honestly say, there wasn't one fish I would have got rid of, I liked them all. Patience is the key, I reckon
Cheers...Freddy. |

Cheers...Freddy. | Avenue Fisheries have been going for now 35 years and is maybe the longest serveing koi only outlet in the uk. they are very helpfull and all have the top koi you would want. its nice when you have a good koi outlet near to where you live coz you know your always getting good advise and good koi.

Reputation Level: | well its now been 5 or 6 days now for the pond running and all seems great. have put some fish into it and they all seem good, feeding when i put food in and coming up to the top. off to get my best fish tomo so hoping it settles in ok. the sieve seems to be taking out alot of fish muck already so im happy to see the bottom drain working and doing its job good. mark |
