Rep Power: 0  | building raised pond hi could someone please give me any ideas of building a raised pond
i have already have a sunken pond but want to construct a raised pond on a large hard standing i already have but not sure where to start.
Thought of building out of breeze blocks, would one width be suffcient
i would like it 11'x6'x3' (feet) as thats the size of the pond i have now

Alan | Hi Alan.
When building a wall that is retaining, ie. a pond wall, the rule is ' THE THICKNESS IS 1/3 THE HEIGHT.' This means in your case two blocks flat and one upright to get the thickness needed,and do make sure you build it on a reinforced concrete raft. Good luck. John

Rep Power: 2  | Re: building raised pond yes i agree if you get the base done , then lay the blocks on there side , you can tie in a brick wall around it , and back fill that with concrete , so you get a brick width , 2inch concrete then a block laid on its side , thats alotta width  |
