Reputation Level: | I've had a UK made Honda CRV from new, it's nearly seven years old now but only 32K on the clock. Our previous car was the same, again from new, but made in Japan, I kept it seven years.
When we bought it there were very few on the road, so if you ever saw another, we'd all wave like mad..... Now "everyone's got one." We had a new Honda LSI before that.
Touch wood neither have needed anything other than tyres and regular servicing.
The MPG is rubbish, around 23mpg, around town which is what mostly I do. But I don't mind, I don't do a lot of driving.
My wife likes it as with her disability it's easy for her to get in as the seats are at bum height and she doesn't have to bend her head as she gets in.
She calls the modern saloons of friends and relatives "Head bangers."

Reputation Level: | Apart from my works VW transporter, I'm a Ford man. Her indoors has a Focus tdci and I have 2 Sierra RS500 cosworths, 1 in black and 1 in white. The black 1 is quite tame...ish, the white 1 has 536bhp with lots of toys on it, and its a bit of a handfull.
DHR, I would love to see 23mpg lol

Reputation Level: | If we're going to include cars we once had, my first car when I was seventeen in 1958 was a 1936 Austin Seven convertible. I'd saved up money I'd earned for my Saturday job and working during school holidays. I bought it as soon as I left school and started working
My parents didn't drive, I and a doctor were the only people who had cars in our road. (I passed my test first time a month after I bought the car, just drove it around without L plates. Only put them on for the test! I've never had a driving lesson, my wife says it shows!)
I kept it for a year, all it needed was a set of tyres and a bearing for the dynamo, which cost me 1/- which I changed myself.
My favourite car was my 1980 2lt Alfa Romeo Giulietta, all aluminium twin cam engine canted at 30 degrees to reduce height, two twin choke down-draught Webber carburettors, torque tube to gearbox attached to de Dion back axle.
It used to see off those "biscuit tin" Ford XR3s, despite being 300lb heavier.
Fantastic car, but it "rusted to death underneath me."
