Default Topless Waitress!

Err..

Not one of my jukeboxes, it's a German made Wurlitzer, recently sold on eBay for far too much money. Nicely restored though.

Sadly the waitress wasn't for sale.

As it's been a pretty dull day, I thought I'd bump this "for all our new readers."

Well, here's a reliable model, might go for five or six hundred quid.

Rock-Ola / Rockola 477 Max Jukebox - Circa 1979/80 | eBay

and this firm could fix you up with a one armed bandit.

The Defranchi’s

Or a complete make-over of your kitchen.

Although I've thousands of mp3s and a few hundred CDs, I'm still into vinyl, my 1972 Philips 390 hifi went "fins up" last year, so I bought this vintage Leak 2000 tuner/amp with all sorts of "bells and whistles" on eBay to replace it. Cost me all of £32.

I can understand that, I didn't start to indulge myself until long after the kids didn't need supporting and after I took early retirement when I became "better off."
The problem with jukeboxes is that they're all complicated old technology with lots of switches and motors and few people around who know how to service them. They can cost a fortune to have repaired.

On the subject of old audio reproduction equipment, "the youth of today" aren't that interested, they're happy with their ipods.

It's even worse in the States. the "in" hifi outfit in the fifties and sixties were the Magnavox Astro-sonics, a radiogram with as many as eight speakers which could have cost as much as a small car. (and be as big!)

They end up as the effects of grandparents who've died. Young people don't want them as they think they look dated though they were lovingly cared for (they come in a huge variety of styles) so they get trashed or left "free at the kerb" or get picked up in thrift shops for a few dollars by enthusiasts. Sometimes the amplifiers need re-capping but they can be restored cheaply.

Here's a couple of examples.
