I know what you mean !
My latest gf announced she was a bloody vegie the first time she stayed,
I nearly dumped her there and then !!!
Turns out it's not an ethical thing, thank God ! she just does not like red meat, will eat all poultry etc and all fish and seafood etc.
I'm determined to get her to eat lamb at least !

| everything seems to be fashion based now !!
it's the cool thing to be veggie , or this and that .
the silly bird on the program was talking about , how she'd rather shop at prada ect , than kill an animal , i bet prada dont use fake leather , i bet her shoes wern't plastic .
i must admitt i'm realy anti , anti lolz
i love the taste of meat , and when we move up to lincolnshire , i'l be there with my gun , with a silencer , so i can pop one , then pop his mate , cos he aint herd anything
and when you pop the bird , they tenderise when the hit the floor , its win , win thing!!
i remember about 15years ago , me and a couple of friends went shooting , and my mate accidently shot a cow !! you should have seen us trying to get it in the back of his escort van lolz |

The only thing NOT real about Prada is the prices !!!
Can you not still be hanged for cattle rustling ?
you can't shoot a cow by MISTAKE !!!! pmwl f.f.s !!!
just 20 minutes north of here in Cumbria they steal sheep and the odd cows by the cattle wagon load and run them into Scotland to sell !
a farmer friend once said to me quite seriously he would shoot to kill if he caught them backed up to one of his gateways,
and bury the blokes on his land !!!
when I said about hanging in the old days,
he just said why waste good rope !!!
Someone I know, every year steals a tennis net or two and nets the river at spawning time for Salmon, behind his house.
I used to buy 6 at a time, and the local pub / restaurant owned by my mate's Dad quite blatantly put on his menu and specials blackboard:
" local poached Salmon ! " when anyone remarked, he just laughed and said, they can have it grilled if they want !!!
There's silly buggers pay £thousands to fish 100yds further upstream,
and they can't understand why they can see them jumping the waterfall at one side of his house, BUT can never catch any at the other side of his house !!
When I was married, my Mrs came in all upset as she had run over a deer on the nearby road, I shot out of the house in my car and rang my Dad who set off from the other direction ........... we nearly ran into each other !
I rang the Mrs from my mobile and said tell me where again .........
she said " it's ok it's not hurt it's dead ! 2 men in a van stopped and said it's ok love you get on yer way and we'll just put it over the wall !!! and she had believed them !!!
I made her promise if there was a next time to stay there and ring me or my DAD !!! .......... NO VENISON THAT WEEK !!! Grrr !
Peter.

| Accidently shot a cow' Priceless, still laughing.
My cousin, Hagar the horrible, very nearly 'accidently' throttled a duck when we went on a fishing trip once.
It was my fault apparently.
We'd spent the night moored up in the estuary on my brothers boat ready for an early start the following morning.
I underestimated Hagars food input requirements and thought I'd packed enough food to last the day, but he'd eaten it all before we went to bed.
When I woke in the morning Hagar was already on deck.
I went on deck to find him leaning over the side of the boat with his hands around the neck of this very rare duck which the locals had introduced to the river.
He was well pleased with himself, he'd enticed the duck over with a pickled onion (apparently helped himself to some for later when we were in the pub the previous evening)
He looked at me and said, "breakfast". I quickly explained that it was a pet and that we were being watched by the owners.
It was touch and go for a few seconds, he was in breakfast mode, I told him we'd go ashore and buy some pasties instead. He slowly processed the information, patted the duck on the head and let it go.
P.S Mark, this is the skipper of the charter boat we go out with

| Fraid so, he hasn't changed. He got a bee in his bonnet about fishing the Welsh side a few weeks ago, when we left Portishead I thought we were going straight across the channel but he had other plans, ended up off Abertaw a 60 mile round trip! The chaps even more mad than me
But we did catch fish
