Default when does kohaku become Kawari mono

ok for those of you that dont know the Clown has gone slightly "Kanoko" during the winter. at the crouch show it still fell into its kin gin rin category as that whats she's always been a gin rin Kohaku. but at what point does she get too much kanoko and then gets moved into the kawari mono classification?
who decides? and how?

Kanoko as in dappled Pondy?

Would it not stay in variety but be judged as of the kanoko type within that variety? I am really guessing here but if it were in between and bneither one or the other if it were in a show it would be marked down because of balance of appearance? So there would be an in between period? I looked up Kaneko and guessed the last bit... would be very interested in a judges input.

surely there has to be a benchmark??? Otherwise interpretation could vary from bench team to bench team and from judge to judge? Theres the rule about gin rin isnt there? (although i am woolly with my remembering) - more gin rin scales than you cant count in so many seconds means that its gin rin? So i am sure there must be a similar rule in the case of kanoko scaling?

I too will be interested to hear a judges reply?

Lx

Some interesting points here from a Judge 'Kate KcGill'

Mainly • Kanoko and particularly Kage Koi can look very special on the rare occasions when all appreciation points are met to a high standard, including very neat, consistent, deep-red Kanoko patterning and a clear vignette effect for Kage Koi.

That Kawarigoi/Kawarimono article is reproduced here.

Not sure of the legality of posting that link but I am sure for the debate on this, it is valid?

Heres some photos from the Essex show of her. oh by the way she was benched Kawarimono at the Essex show as she was deemed to far gone kanoko to make her own category. the judges judged her so but afterwards told me that they would have put her in her category until there was no pattern left at all but all kanoko or dappled.
