| I used to have a european eagle owl that thing was pretty good at stopping any unwanted intruders when i had her out in the garden ie cats and heron, the thing stood 2ft high with talons as big as your hand, i kid you not. Im now thinking of getting a female Harris hawk which i will let go after any unwanted intruders.
European Eagle Owl just to give you an idea of the size of these huge birds, hence no cat or Heron problem, every koi owner should have one, they will take a small sheep too
i think she has a thong on?
Nope second glance definatly a VPL and chewing on em
Harris hawk, and no thats not me lol
Im sorry Mrs was that your cat?

| My next door neighbour had an Eagle owl, he didn't have a cat problem
Very impressive, incredibly powerful bird.
I went with him to collect one from a bloke up norf once. The chap had allowed the owl to land on his arm without a glove, it broke his wrist
He also had a Harris hawk and several other birds of prey. The Harris was his favourite though, he never had any problems with it going AWOL unlike some of his other hawks which he often had to track down.
He moved from the area and the cat population has now recovered
Edit. pic two. what's that called when they cover the prey? I forget. Doesn't look like it's ready to hand that one over just yet

There's a Falconry Centre near here on the A65 near Settle N.Yorks
they take them around all the shows etc.
The Eagle Owls are magnificent, I swear the 1 I touched was nearly 3 feet high,
and the size of it's eyes !!!
I have a great affinity with wildlife etc ( been called Dr. Doolittle by 3 different people before now ! ..... it's all to do with Aura and magnetic energy )
The guy watched me talking to and building up a rapport with his Eagle Owl getting nearer and nearer ........ he quietly warned me about the talons and it's beak...... I said it won't hurt me ! ................
after about 15 minutes or so I stroked it's head with a finger, then it's breast then finally held my other arm out in front ( it was tethered )
it hopped off its perch onto my bare arm and I continued to stroke it and talk to it for a few minutes then gently put it back on it's perch ..........
not a scratch, just tiny pin prick marks where it gripped me for the first few seconds until it felt safe and secure and unthreatenned,
when I turned around the guy from the Falconry Centre and about 10 joe public's were stood watching me ! It was a very special moment for me, one I will never forget !
What a magnificent creature !!!
I would love one, but would be petrified it would get shot every time it flew !
Imagine owning 1 near Ogawa ......" bang ... bang ! " ....... next hobby !!!

Why is this page so wide ? need a bigger laptop to read it
is it because of Carl's fantastic pictures being too wide ?
