Default best sanke has jumped out

Hi all
have just been outside and found my best 18" sanke on the floor.
picked him up and he was still breathing so i got the jap basket and put it over a good air stone in the pond and have been standing holding him. have cleaned him up the best i can but his fins look well bad now. i have my QT but its sitting at 25 today having brought it down from 30. the pond is on temp 20 so i dont know if to put him into the QT now or tomo. need some quick advise please and also do i treat the fish at all. mark

My take- don't stress him again by knocking him out to treat, leave him in the main pond to relax, then assess in 24 hours.

I would try and take a quick scrape before releasing him if you could, just in case there's a critter behind the jumping.

He will be happier free swimming in the pond than in the net but dont want him jumping out overnight!!

Hes bound to look beaten up but summer temps will soon heal things.

i have had a number of fish jump out over the years and only lost 1 that was completely dry, they do look horrid when you get them back in the pond but normally make a full recovery but 1 of mine took just over a year to get back to her normal self... its not nice to see you fish on the floor but it should be alright in the end..

Yes if you can get the temps a bit closer then move him.

I guess it will be probably easier to sort him in the QT.

Clean up any wounds and then koiclear or mercurocrome.

well the fish has been sitting on the pond floor today and not looking good for its self. it is not coming up at all and when it swims looks like it not swimming normal. the skin looks well rough and fins damaged. dont want to stress the fish any more right now.
