hi mark

well is it really important? if so...i can get a thermometer and test it

but its summer here...average temperature is around 30 - 36 degrees celcius
so the water... I'm not sure...its obviously warmer than tap water.

did the writing/text show up in the photo bucket?

well the head mark had showed up about a week from now.

the tail lump has been there for about 2 - 3 weeks.

after they have appeared it hasn't got any worse at this stage..as in ,,no rapid spread or enlargement.

also, any idea of the sex?

the white and black one appears to be male, with its triangular front fin and the torpedo shaped body. but this one looks in between,

Hi,

Unfortunately its hard to see very much on the pictures so would not be able to make a judgment on the marks but as you are warm and they have only just come it could be anything,is there any damage or red/angry looking marks or lumps ?

Its a bit hard to sex a koi from a picture as you would need to see the fish and look at the vent and even feel the fish to correctly sex it.

Hi,

You look at the vent but you can feel the pectoral fins and also on the gill plats as they can get rough a bit like a man who hasn't shaved

Hmmm
Might be a bit hard at this stage. I've just taught it to eat from my hand.
As the old owners of the house used to throw food in and walk away. They're still shy and only really come out to the open when there's food.

They don't like being touched. And definitely wot be able to flip them upside down. Lol

But neither the white black..Bekko or the red Beni-Goi
Has the white spots on the side of gill as people claim males have.

Unless they're young.

Hi,

It takes a bit of time and practice to handle fish and sex them and you catch them and then have them in a viewing bowl or measuring bowl and then you can handle them but being careful not to spook then to much.

They also have to be mature enough so around Nisai (2 years) and onward.
