Hi every1, in the last couple of days a couple of my little koi( about 5") have been floating around on the top and bottom of the water, they look like they are dead but when you go over to them they swim off , today i was looking out of my window from upstairs and noticed that another 1 of my little 1s jumped out of the water, i have been reading up on what it could be, and i keep reading to do a scrape, i have never done 1 before, what is it i need to get, ie what equiptment ?? i have tested the water today, phosphate is high5.0( it is high coming out of my tap) ammonia 0, ph 8.0 and nitrite 0, i have recently put on a new better filter as the 1 i had was not doing its job atall and ammonia was high, any help would be very much appreciated,

From what I remember you are Manchester way and have pretty soft water.
Have you been adding anything to your water to increase the pH?
First base I do think that you need someone local to pop round and test the water and take things from there, it may be parasites but first off you need to get an accurate fix on the water. Think Alan is local to you and has made the offer before..
i am using the pond care master test kit, well it looks yellow, but in different lights and positions it sometimes looks like it has a green tinge to it, last time i tested on the 17th of sep my test results where, Ammonia 0.25, PH 9.0, nitrite 0, phosphate in between 1 and 2 ish !!
When are you about mate? I can come up, check your water test and do a scrape. I am in Manchester tomorrow afternoon so could come up then. Sooner the better really before you lose any.
