Hi James,

Its hard to say the best way forward without knowing whats going on or what the damage looks like is there any chance you can get a picture ?

If it is a ulcer then this is probably as secondary infection so we may need to find the cause of the problem in the first place which could be a parasite.

How many fish have a problem and have you had any problems with any parasites recently ?

Can you do a scrape on a few of the fish to have a look and see whats going on ?

Hi Paul,

Carp pox can come and go and normally on younger fish and normally in cooler temperatures and can go as fast as it come. A lot of the time the fish will grow out of it later on and its nothing that you should need to worry to much about.

We had several koi with ulcers they can be dealt with but you should start figuring what may be the cause and treating as soon as possible.

dorie.
