25C - they will hatch a little quicker so day 7 will be good -

You can pick up a small bottle of acetone from the chemists.

I know you say to use about 40 ml of acetone to disolve the fluke m granules but is this nail polish remover safe to put in the pond, poison logo on the bottle looks a little scary.

Hi,

You are not drinking it, at 10ml per 1000gallons you are putting it in the pond at a concentration of less than 0.5ppm.

My understanding is that you would need to overdose by a seriously massive factor (several thousand times) to get into problems.

So safety wise, it's OK.

Hi Guys,

Sorry i missed a few posts

I have never had to treat twice fopr flukes when using flubonel as it is designed to kill off the little criters and that includs the eggs. Once treated have a scrape say 5 to 7 days later and see if there goe or not.

Acetone is safe at the dose rate we use and i have done it many times over the years and never had a problem
