Default Pics of white fin fungus. I think?

Hiya...

our pond is years and years old.. and we've had the fish around seven years without problems.

one of our fish has developed this fungus looking stuff on its fin.

can anyone advise me on what it is and what action should be taken...

carp pox can go at anytime over 16c, ive even seen koi at 23c with it too.

if you can run your nail over it gently as sometimes you can just wipe it off. done this on several occasions on my koi but only if its on the finnage.

Koi can grow out of carp pox too. it always seems to be the younger koi that get it

I had a beni kumonryu that i first showed when it was tosai but then couldnt show it till it was 4 as it kept getting carp pox at show time. Mrs Marmite has gone from strength to strength since then

thanks for that, its does only seem to be on the fins so may net one fish up and try what you just said.

oh no, perhaps i'm lucky, i've never had to worry about anything more than just ulcers; and even then only on my 'other' fish, never the koi.
Having come through the freezing winter, they are all looking great.

Hope you resolve the problem soon.

Smile Same problem

I took my koi to the koi specialist today as he had the same thing 2 weeks ago,I gave it a salt bath looked ok then yesterday evening he had a red tail finns and cotton wool over the mark on his side.

The shop gave the fish an injection and gave me some anti fungi and paracite treatment for my pond ill let you know how i get on as this is all new to me ..

regards
mark.
