Default Sick Koi

Help.. I've woke up to see some sick fish I think I've overfeed them when the water has been too cold. A number of them look very lethargic.ie laying on their side for a while and not swimming around as normal. Any ideas please

Hi Test your water and do a scrape to check for parasites over feeding should not have causes these symptoms unless you massively over fed and the food went bad on the pond floor.

What makes me think its over feeding is.. Its only my big greedy eaters that are affected. The 3 small new ones that have not yet learnt how to come to the surface to get the food are unaffected.

Hi you really need to scrape and test your water also test the oxygen levels this wont be down to too much food being eaten

Thankfully they are a lot better today. Not 100% but better. I was wondering if it might be ammonia. Feeding but filters not yet kicked in after the winter. I've got a test kit on order from Mark. I think I've got over the worst to live another day Thanks for your concern.

If my problems has been ammonia. How come the small Koi swimming around the bottom of the pond have not been affected? Is there any reason for this?
