Reputation Level: | Hole disease Hi I hope someone can help I have a main pond and also a couple of growing on tanks in my garage.
In the garage everything was fine until i heated them over the winter I got the temperature to 20 degrees and maintained that temperature then all hell seemed to break loose.
One day koi would be fine and feeding well then the next the same koi would be floating most of the time there would be a hole in the side of the fish near the tail or the lips would look distorted i was loosing a fish nearly everyday with no signs of stress or anything abnormal. The water parameters were all spot on as they are checked every 5 days. The worst case was a 4 inch ogon that was perfectly fine one day then the next it was swimming round and round in a circle I netted it to fin that half of it,s back end underside was missing in what looked like a perfect bite mark I did photograph this and visited my local dealer who found it as distressing as i did I treated the water with a product that the dealer sold me called Combat this seemed to do the trick for a while but there are signs of it returning.
I have one tank 800 litres with small fish in and another tank 2000 litres with larger fish over 8 inch in the tanks run from the same filter but as yet only one of the larger fish have become infected. I have done everything I know water changes the salt level is ok and also bacterial treatment.Scrapes have been done and there is nothing showing on the fish. Has anybody ever experienced this type of problem. Thanks for reading Paul. |

Reputation Level: | Hi Paul, if you set your camera on VGA (smallest picture setting) you can attach them straight from your pictures. I find that the easiest way.
Welcome to the forum. Hope your koi will be fine... Carmen |
