Reputation Level: | flukes i treated my 5500g pond approx 3 weeks ago with a double dose of Fluke M a 65g sachet then 3 days later another one, today i have found a fluke again on the first koi after a scrape, is there anything stronger i can zap these pests with besides potasium , there have been no new koi added to my pond.

Reputation Level: | Flukes Thanks for reply Steve, will take your advice and give them a call. I have been researching these little pests on the net, is it possible to clear our ponds 100% of flukes , I know they can return to the pond on new fish , bird droppings. Can flukes stay alive on nets ? Any info would be appreciated. Regards Joe |

Reputation Level: | Hi joe ,
i had massive problem with flukes the year before last , it took me several different chemicals , including pp , to get rid of them , the only thing that worked was fluke m .
i'm not a lover of pp , it is soooo easy to overdose , but if the fluke m doesn't work even on 3 X's of an increased dose , you'l have little option left , just have plenty of dechlorinator to hand !!
i along with many other keepers are sure , the biggest spreader of flukes , apart from new fish , is the frog and toad , i have done a scrape of both and found flukes in low numbers .
do you know what type of flukes you have ??

Reputation Level: | Just had a long chat with guy at Kusuri, he says : dont double dose one sachet should be enough to keep problem at bay; 1 skin fluke is not a problem. Im still not convinced 1 leads to 2 etc, etc, i would not like to have 1 of these pests sticking its hooks into me.
Regards Joe |
