Default from centre of fish to tail blood red?

this 6 lb pure white koi is resting on the bottom all the time and doesnt move . Its tail area up to the centre is bright red like its been beaten
Has anyone got any ideas? Ive been told its possibly stress and to put 1kg of pond salt in for every 1000 litres so in total 25kg of salt . I am just a bit worried putting so much salt in when Ive never put any in before.
Water is fine had it tested last week. The fish has been like this for two weeks now. Put about 4kg of salt in yesterday but too early to tell anything yet.

With the weater being so cold its no wonder they are sitting on the bottom i take it you dont heat the pond that is. Yeah salt is great for healling put not shore id salt the whole pond for one fish mind if you can id put the fish in a QT tank and heat it to about 24c wuth the same measurments of salt of saying that if you dont Have QT then salt baths at 3oz per gallon but with it being so cold id be i bit fiffy there so i suerpose you could salt the whole pond it wont hert as we come in to spring just remember you will need to remove all the salt befor you add any other treatment as that can cause diyer problems so once you think the fish is healed do water changes to remove the salt and id but a salt tester so you know it has gone

thanks for your reply, I know they will be on the bottom in this weather and hardly moving but this one doesnt move at all, unlike the others.
i dont have the option of a QT.
Also a bit worried about having to change the water , theres 25000 litres!!
Any ideas ? Why does ALL the salt have to be out?

Yeah thats a lot of water to have to change its about 5500gallons in that case i would salt bath the fish but id try and wait till a warm day dont want to shock the fish and cause any unwanted stress, The reason all the salt has to be removed is that a lot of pond treatments when mixed in a pond that has salt will then turn poisonous to the fish. Pluse do you think you would be able to get a pic to see?
