Default Koi on it's side

Hi All,

Please help me with this one. I have a Koi fish that has been acting strange for the last week or so. She keeps going on her side and just floats about aimlessly. She almost looks dead but there seems to be some movement.
I am really worried as she was doing this in the summer (i think she was spawning as there is a new baby fish in the pond). All my other kois are fine and look healthy. I have fed here some pea's she seemed to start moving but now gone back to just floating around on her side. PH and water test look fine. filter has been running and UV is on. She has some funny silver spots on here but not sure if they have always been there or not. Normally she is the most active one in the tank.
I have a seperate tank is it worth moving her to this?
Please advise I am really worried about her any help will be really appreciated. Thanks.

this sounds like swim bladder problems and the fact you have tried peas and they work for a while almost backs this up if you cant your need to feed the pea again and heat the water which will help correct the swim bladder by flushing the koi internal system out. these spots are they like a white waxy spot [carp pox ]?

Hi,
thanks for the quick reply. I think the spots are white and waxy like.
How do I heat the water? can I get a heater for it? Also is it safe to isolate her I have a seperat tank I can put her into. I don't want to cause any more damage or stress to her.

hi,

I have moved her to a tank inside. She looks in bad shape just about floating but still on her side almost a u shaped . She did move a from one end of the tank to the other but mostly motionless. Is there anything else I can do?

Its not sounding to good to be honest but all you can do really is pump the heat up to around 26c and add salt at 3oz per gallon of water for the tank it is in and plenty of Oxygen and just fingers crossed that it dose the trick but if
as you say it is very motionless it might be a losing battle but it is always worth trying good luck and hope she makes it

Dan.
