my pond is 2500 gallons and i got the pp from the local koi doctor who done my scrape i think it was 20/ 25 grams??, , as i have read about koi health i started looking at my kois gills etc and the have Gill lesions and also look like the article on khv • View topic - KHV The Facts how can i get this checked as panicing that this is what i had ?? cause surely if i overdosed the pond my other fish would die ?? i am totally gutted but have learnt so many new things about looking after koi and the rest of the pond. now im looking at restarting the whole pond, putting the orf and goldish i got into a seperate pond and draining my pond down and disinfecting it all and rebuilting it again.

20/25g of PP is far to much and as you have used so many treatments that is more than likly what has caused it and as for the fish's gills a lot of the treatments you have used especialy the PP will strip the oxygen out of the pond and with no oxygen in the pond the gills will start to deteriate, as said above you need to get the water quality spot on now i would do some 10% water changes of the next couple of days adding filter boost to get the filter back on track and add NO MORE TREATMENT get your water perfect and then if the fish are still looking ill get a scrape done again and go from there but you need to give the treatments a chance to work. I know its hard at the min but i went throu this at the begining of the year with PP striped the oxygen out of the pond and with in a few hours i lost 5 koi so ill never use it again only to disinfect. Just bear with it you will get it sorted

Hello

What was the outcome with this problem?

Have just lost 5 koi in the last two weeks to flukes and we are just coming to the end of our chloramine t treatment which was instead but no more effective than the pp. Would be interested to hear how things panned out.

When/if you restocked?
