Default Mirror carp with missing scales...

Not so good evening all,
I have returned home from work only to discover that my 22 inch mirror carp has some how managed to get on top of my pond netting. Luckily he was still alive due to his weight hanging the net into the water BUT as you can imagine he has flapped around for god knows how long and has lost several scales. He appears to have no serious damage and i have returned him to the pond.
Is there anything i should do ie dip bath to protect against infection etc ..... please let me know what you think,

thanks Lee.

my 22 inch mirror has done exactly that but has landed on gravel 3 times
3rd time was the worst and he has now got a ragged tail and a missing scale or two
but i gave it a quick salt bath after and he is recovering fine
afterall mirrors are very hardy compared to koi ,think about in fishing ponds

I too had one find his way onto the net and lost one scale near his tail last year, quick salt bath and he is ok now.

Cheers Crazy

Hi Crazy,
I cant understand how they actually manage to get on the top... I only put the net on cause we had a visit from a heron a couple of weeks ago and lost a small koi. Personally i hate having a net on cause no matter how well you get it on, its still block the view and defeats the whole object of having nice fish. I think i will post another topic on ideas how to stop/ deture herons.

Hi All,
I agree with the 12 bore but as i live on the side of a main road, me weelding a shot gun out of the landing window at 5 in the morning may raise some attention.
