hi there
good to hear you havent lost anymore fish . i dont think you should add the hemisulphate untill the acraflavine is out of your system probarly 10 days or so im not sure if im wrong then hopefully someone will correct me. were the fish up and feeding before you added the salt at 18 c they should be moving about . how is the ammonia and nitrite in your pond these two readings could be crucial to your main problem . cheers paul

Hi, I've just read your post, I have not had much time to get onto the forum lately, you must be very stressed losing your koi, Please try vircon s. it is formulated to stop the spread of viruses and aromonas bacteria, it sterilizes your water and stops it passing fish to fish. ring me and I will give you the phone no to get it. 07929839371.

Yet another update, i have lost yet another koi, an 8" one which i`ve had since it was 3" long and normally very hardy. The same large ulcer type holes as my photo at the start of the post..I looked really hard at the rest of my fish and at least 6 of them have these holes appearing .
I took one 16"er out last night and gave it a salt bath 2ounces/gallon and then applied anti bacterial cream, its eating fine and swimming well but the hole in its side looks bad..Oh and looking closely at my large ogon it has a sore on its bottom jaw which is starting to de-form him, probably causing him not to eat.

Can i dose the 1500 gals every day with one tablet of vircon-s will this help ?, or should i keep dosing with hemisulphate or should i re-salt the pond as it will be diluted with the previously partial water changes ....what can i do to save my darlings..is anyone local to me that can help..Dumfries, scotland..just next to Gretna Green on the border..thankyou

It sounds and looks as though you have an aeromonas infection are you overstocked? how many fish do you have and what size are they? can you also let us know your ammonia and nitrite readings

I asked you quiet a few posts ago what your water parameters are, have you tested your water for nitrite and ammonia etc?

Your koi may be getting poisoned on their own waste and nothing is going to stop this unless we know whats going on.

treat the ulcers with propolis and then add melafix to your pond providing water readings are correct ,propolis will kill majority of bacteria in the open wounds and melafix is great at speeding up healing process.the longer the wounds remain open the more prone to more horrible bacteria and parasite oppurtunist.check your water and tell us the results.

I agree with Extreme 100%, you need to check parameters and even get a scrape done on one of the koi. You are just throwing chemicals into your pond that are doing nothing and costing you a S**t load of money. You should only treat once with the correct product once diagnosed problem. Possibly might even need antibiotics on the worse ones.
