Today i popped into the venue for the Midland Koi Association Koi Show on my way home from work. The team there are working very hard to put on a show for the koi keepers who will visit over the weekend. The high winds of course played Havoc with things like setting up Marquee’s and laying out vats for the centre ring but none the less they worked from about 9am till gone 6pm to get a big chunk of the work done.
Chairman Bob Jacobs laying the vat lines out – Taking care to ensure they are all in the right place and fit for use. He has a great sense of involvement and also working hard to over see the whole build.
Every koi Club has a helper who never seems to stop and instinctively knows what to do. This is one of the MKA’s – Jeff – all round good guy who did a huge amount of work today battleing those winds along with the “marquee team”.
The vats now being in location without getting blown away – 20 of them in all and 19 exhibitors koi will fill these come the weekend.
The water change and wash and rinse vats going together – they even have to have a “dirty” vat for the waste at the show as the drainage is limited.
Pretty much the end of day one – 15 vats all set up and part filled to weight them down, 6 of the 8 marquee’s built up.
I will be calling in again tomorrow to assist if needed and update the forums with a few more picture opportunities.
