Cambridge koi show. day 1

well its nearly half 5 in the morning, Koi Al will be here in an hour to help me bag, box, and load neatly into the sperm wagon for my trip to the cambridge Koi show.
ive been told by The show chair person (sally)night via e.mail that the vats are at 7.5ph and at 18c
thanks for that its a nice heads up!

for me its roughly a 2 hour trip up (hopefully without too much traffic problems) but im nervous. you could say im bricking it!!

its the furtherst ive taken my koi to a show so far and tonight i will be leaving them there not to be seen again by me til Sunday.

ive heard that the quality of koi that will be there this weekend will be (apart from mine) of an exceptionally high standard this is also enough to make you nervous.
im taking a few of my koi which have either a good show record or never been shown before (just to see how they fair) if you dont enter the higher quality shows like this then i guess you will never know if your koi are up to scratch and good enough to compete at the higher levels.

just a shame the Essex show is just next weekend as by BKKS rules these koi from this weekend cannot be shown again next weekend.

oh well chin up (all of them) bring on the start of the

2011 CAMBRIDGE KOI SHOW...

Well i just got back from the show. all my koi got there and have been benched. the benching was still going on when we left but with two benching teams im sure they muct almost be done by now.
I have to say the standard of koi there is absolutely stunning... they must be probably some of the best koi the UK show scene has at the moment. lots of 70+ koi there for your delights.
I havent taken any photo's yet as you all need to get of your derryaire's and support the show. Go see for yourself.
my koi are in Vat 29 and if your around on Sunday please come and say hello.

Id like to say Thankyou to KOI AL as he helped catch bag and load my koi this morning your help and great company has made it great day and looking forward to sunday when we can do it again.

Whilst we were there we gave our assistance to the CKC and in doing so got roped into catching (or trying) Chaos's koi up from his indoor pond (and what a pond it is, i guess it must be 30 foot long 16 foot wide and 6 foot deep.) we spent nearly two hours in his seat room of a koi house, i think i lost a stone in sweat (but its ok i think i can spare a few

). but it added to the day and both Alan and myself enjoyed it.

really great day with loads of great people and simple stunning koi. oh and mine were there too

Good to see you guys today but a shame i had to dash off.

Roll on Sunday i say and i hope they get a good turn out as there are some stunning fish to see at the show.
