This food is a fraction of the price of "badged" koi food. Would you use it? Any comments would be appreciated.
I bought some last week, the amount of waste is no different to other foods I have tried and it is stable in the water, ie it doesnt break up or discolour the water. It comes in a plain plastic zipper bag, the link tells you what is in the food.
There are many many types of food out there for our koi some good some bad and most to be totally honest are rubbish and a waste of money. If you have only just tried this food then you will have to give the fish and system time to get used to it.
I have tried many foods and would trial them over a good long time or full season to see what the pros and cons are and to be honest a lot of the cheaper ones are just that cheap badged up food.

The link I posted is food that looks, smells and feels exactly like the stuff tha Richdon Koi sell.
The basic analysis is similar but Richdon does not use wheat flour, which is
reportedly common in most of the cheaper foods.
There is a world shortage of fish meal (if the EU can be persuaded to alter law on trawlers discarding undersized fish) hopefully it might improve.
I have got an interesting recipe(somewhere) from a past koi poster called Bil
who was very thorough in his research for economical quality food...if it is of interest ?
