I bought silkworm pupae last year and the koi loved them. When the jar was half used, I started to notice small maggots in the food which to me indicated a freshness problem, also there was a lot of waste in the form of dead skin put into the water.

I have looked at silkworm kits and they are available with everything you need to grow them and even breed new eggs for a full cycle. Obviously, this would be a superb and probably the best supplement for my koi. Has anyone done this?

Any comments or advice would be welcomed.
