ok right here we go...

i feed pearl barley and i openly admit it on a regular basis.
and for your info its barley straw which is supposed to clear blanket weed

ok yes currently being fed once a week my pearl barley as you said shevy is boiled in a flask and while my current pond temps are atg 18c i add honey to my mix or sometimes just propolis.
what i also add to my barley is clay. so im claying my food putting it directly into the koi rather than claying my pond. nutrients then go directly to the koi too.

now ive been doing this for a while now and anybody that knows me and my koi know that i have very good shiroji and lustre both of which i put some of the credit to the pearl barley.

as i creep towards the show season i will increase the amount i feed .

as a property its supposed to detoxify our skin so i thought it must do the same to my koi too
i put a friend in Australia onto this too and he is over the moon with the results with a remarkable impovement in his whites too.

have a look at some of my koi if you want to see if they look like they are suffering
