In answer to your question, absolutely not.

Your koi should get all the nutrients they need during summer feeding from a good quality pelleted food.

I often despair at the level of "treats" that some hobbyists shovel down their koi's throats , but that's for another day!

How about as a carrier for clay? Do you see this having any benefit?

Clay replaces minerals in the water, but the koi should receive sufficient in their diet anyway and from the water itself, so why overload their intake with more? I would only recommend this if you are running RO .
