Well after watching the Koi last night, I noticed them playing around with something on the pond floor, I have also had a Kohaku doing a bit of head shaking and coughing.
So after a couple of attempts with the net, I fished this out..... had a few before but not of this size, thinking about it, it may not be a tooth, any ideas?

Deffo not a scale, unless I have armoured plated bullet proof Koi
It's 6-8mm thick, and nail like in hardness. Pond indoors, nothing around that could of fell in.
No damage on any of the Koi, i've pulled plenty of scales out in my time, none of them looked like this though (texture/thickness)
Only thing I can think is that it is a scale that's been in there a while and swelled up and hardened, strange thing is, none of them are missing a scale? It's the right shape for a scale, so that's got to be it, will have to have a good look at them in the daylight and see who it belonged to.
No Jaws in here Dave Thinking back to when I put the Koi in, I did have a couple scales missing off one due to netting and transport. It's only just appeared in the pond though, the only possible explanation is that it's been stuck in the showers all this time and only just made it's way into the pond, as I did run without a couple of spray bars on for the first few days.
