Default Best for pipework / fittings etc.

I need to start gathering more items for my new build. I still need to get a uv clarifier, air pump and all the pressure pipe & fittings - also, maybe a skimmer!

Just wondering where would be the best in terms of value, apart from ebay! any good priced dealers worth a punt?

Cheers guys.

hiya miles
I brought all my fittings off ebay even my skimmer, i really believe this can be the cheapest way at times but you do need to keep an eye on who does what and check prices for what you want. i have done all mine in 1.5" pipe work as most do it in this size. maybe some others will give you some advise on here to.
what bottom drain are you going for.

If you still want to go the dealer route I've found Coastal Koi pretty good for prices

Hi Mark
I've been researching for much of the afternoon! and 1.5" pipe seems the correct way to go, but wasn't sure whether to use 2". I've calculated that the gallonage will be around 1980 gals, given the size at 3mtrsx2.5mtrsx1.2mtrs deep.

I plan to have 2 returns, one on either side placed at 45° angles so as to create a slight vortex. The bottom drain will be just a 'standard' 4" type.

They look quite good I agree, also koi water garden in Aylesbury look good. It's frustrating that the pipework fittings aren't sold say in bags of 10!
Ah well, back to ebay then! lol

2" is fine but what you need to think about is most pumps and skimmers and so on have 1.5" outlets and inlets so no point i believe in going to 2". its your call mate.

why dont you go for a avenue fisheriers bottom drain

with a standard bottom drain it has a post in the middle that holds the top dome onto the drain, with avenue drains they have a hinge so no center post to get blocked up with blanket weed or any thing else. have a look at my pond build or psp new pond build.
