Awards Showcase
June 2011 Picture of The Month - Winner
Total Awards: 1
Default Been a bad week

This Koi keeping lark can be a real pain at times.

Babes in the growing on system have been off their food so scraped a few of them and too many Tric.

Couple of pics of one of the better ones, nudging 55cm at 16 months, bit stressed out, but might have some potential.

PP and they are back to normal .

Bit the bullet and put KJ, my Doitsu Showa from the main pond to sleep, poor girl has been going downhill for best part of a year - tumour that has caused a load of stress on her spine, she has been gamely struggling away becoming more banana shaped but had reached the stage when she could carry on no longer .

But scraped her before letting her go and Tric and a few Gill Flukes on her.

So PP’d the main pond to get rid of the easy targets, no hassle… all well after 3 hours, went in for dinner, back half hour later and there was a fish on the floor. One of KJ’s offspring… Dead as a dodo.

And it rained and the Pond room leaks!!

Apart from the Koi - Life’s a breeze

Dave

Hiya Dave.

That's sad news. Never nice to lose a fish, and it sounds like she captured your affection. One of the 'joys' of fish keeping eh?

Cheers...Freddy.

Hi Dave,

Sorry to hear about your losses. Such a shame about KJ she looked like a loverly fish but I was it was for the best as that tumor had the better of her.

Hope all picks up from here on.

Oh and thanks again for the pod and all the advise, also I got that book your wife recomended, cheers.

Dave
