Found this on another site I'm sure angie won't mind me copying it.
It is with great sadness that we have to report that Roger Payne has passed away.
As most of you know Roger has been battling illness for a long period of time now.
Unfortunately this morning 26th October 2011 he lost his battle.
His wife Heather has been at his side throughout. We know lots of people will have fond memories of Roger, and will have learnt much from his knowledge and expertise around the koi hobby.
Please join us to pay our respects to our very dear departed friend. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy go to Heather and the family.
The club have begun a condolence book for Roger. If you would like to add your memories or comments please send them to:

What a huge loss my heart felt consultancies goes out to heather will miss talking koi with roger and learning from his vast amount of expertise. Will surely be missed mark.
A very sad day Rodger was one of the best,I will miss meeting up at shows and all the banter we would have.Our thoughts are With Heather and his family at this very sad time.

Rodger and i have had some great conversations in the past and he will be missed throughout the hobby in so many different ways. my thoughts and best wished go out to Heather and their family.
