Hi, I know this is probably a bit vague but I'm trying to work out how much it would cost me to heat my 2500 gallon pond per year with a profi 3kw heater. It is below ground level if that helps.
Can anyone give me a rough idea?
Thanks
James

Think all depends on where abouts you are in the Uk, the temp you are going to try and maintain, if the pond is covered and how good the cover is insulation wise.
One other ways of reducing heating costs using "leccy" is to go on a night and day meter.
We've been on this system for years. You can then run your pool heating constantly, between midnight and 7.00am at a greatly reduced rate and then have it on less during the day.
But you have to do your sums as you pay slightly more for your day rate.
It suits us as we run the washing machine, the tumble dryer and the dishy after midnight. We never go to bed much before 2.00am anyway and we aren't very good at turning off unnecessary lights.
If your not on a "white meter" there's a charge for installing one.
