How badly is it leaking ? If not from pipework may just have to 'bite it' and let the level drop to identiofy where it is. Thing to think about is that as it gets closer to the flaw the weight of water will lessen which will PROBABLY mean you gradually lose less and less water and maybe by time you get to where it is it may look like you are losing nothing but may yet have an inch to go.
Not sure I wrote that sensibly but know way back I had a leak could not find it let it find its level and still could not find it... until I realised the above. It was actually a couple of inches under water where I thought I had stopped losing water.
Always something to frustrate - but you got the strength my mate and know you will sort it.
Hi Pondy, Sorry to here about the leak. If there is anything that I can do to help, then please ask, you have my number. I'm only a call away, I'm a good grafter.
Sorry to hear that Pondy. A few of us have been through that, it's not a pleasant experience. I hope you find and fix it.

May be an idea to turn off the autofeeder and heater in anticipation that the Mutts are gonna spend a little time in a vat whilst you get things sorted.
There's one maybe two rigid pools here that hold around 1500 gallons each for when you need it.
