Default Forgot to turn off UV

Hi, quick question, I treated my pond this morning with lice solve, the directions say to turn off the UV for 4 days but I forgot until just now, so it has been on most of the day. My question is will the treatment be useless and I will have to do it again or will it be ok if I leave it off for the next 4 days?

Thanks

James

Hiya

Bet you are kicking yourself.

I would give the suppliers a ring, they will be able to give you the best advice.

Hi,

Try not to beat yourself up to much we have all done similar in one way or another.....trust me i would be typing all night with my cock ups

There is nothing you can do now so as Dave suggests see what they say and i would just let it run its course and then scrape and see whats about.

I am kicking myself! Never mind.

I have been thinking about getting a scope to see whats going on. Can you recommend a cheap one that will be up to the job?

You do not need a microscope to see fish lice (Argulus) or gill maggots they are quite easy to see with the naked eye.
Did you see an infestation or are you treating for an undiagnosed problem?

I had seen Argulus on one koi so treated with lice solve last week. I did the second treatment yesterday and thats when i forgot to turn the UV off. The guy that soold me the treatment said it will prob only need one go but i did a second to be sure.

I am thinking of getting a scope becuase the koi are not themselves and havent been for over a month. So im wondering if there is some other infestation that i cannot see with my eye. Or will it take a while for the lice to get out of their system? and they will be fine soon?

Dont really want to spend more than £100 on a scope, any recommendations?

Have a look in Lidl for the "Bresser Biolux AL", it has a mechanical stage and a usb camera and is usually under £50. If they don't have them in just now they are bound to get stock before christmas or there are ususally one or two on ebay.
