Well to add to my year if just lost another koi.
" Pondy Junior" was one of Davej's babies that were spawned two years ago. we followed this koi's growth from about 2cm when i picked it out.
from a doitsu showa parentage it progressed into a doitsu shiro.(albeit with not much sumi either)
but today after battling against a quite severe case of whitespot is sadly passed away. the post mortem showed a bad deteriation of the gills wher the white spot had attacked it.
onlookers said today at the finding of his body " Bollox i really liked that koi too" and "oh well it was a shit fish you should of knocked it on the head ages ago or sold it for fish meal"
water quality was found not too bad with a small ammonia and nitrite reading, understandable for the amount of koi and feed in the pond at the moment.
scrapes of the deceased showed nothing under the microscope proving that all the whitespot had been eradicated.
a small biopsy slice from the gill itself was taken into the lab(dining room) and scrutinised by our top scientists (davej)
with words like "ooh" and "wow" emitting from his mouth closely followed by " remind me to bloody bring my video camera nect i come to yours pondy" (Perv just cause i had my shirt off

)
to be seen under the microscope were creatures such as Paramecium Tetrahymena, a few Chilodonella and the odd splattering of Trichodina
so now as a last farwell to Pondy junior i say...."Here you go Foxy dinner time!!!"
