Hi
I need some advice on the what water testing equipment I should get.
used the chemical test kits in the past but as my interest in this hobby grows I guess I need a more reliable bit of kit.
As always many different products and a nudge in the right direction would be very usefull, Cheers.

It depends how much you want to spend to be honest as test kits do perform well and then you move on to the electronic testers and i find the Hanna works are very good.
Each to there own, but unless you have recurring problems with the water you can spend too much money on test kits. With really accurate digital testers you could then start agonising about a .1 or whatever difference over a couple of days.
I'm happy with the "strip tests," I test mine every couple of weeks or so, there's little variation. I think the behaviour of your fish is also worth considering.

i agree with you Doghouse Riley they are more important thing to spend on like thing that will make your water better so less testing your fish tell you alot also if they are flicking then its a water test and scrape if they are not feeding well test water ive stoped testing as much and do a constant water change when im feeding alot.
Then change less when i feed little but i do have good water coming out of my tap 6.5 ph 77tds and run it through a de clorinator
